FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a sweater quantity discount?

YES! Handmade sweaters made from quality yarn can get expensive quick, especially for our beautifully curvy bodies. Just send me an email with the colorway you'd like and your yardage, and I will get your discount send back to you!

Do you dye custom quantities?

Most of the time I can! The best way to find out is to message me with your colorway, weight and yardage needed. Then I can check our stock and put your order on my dye schedule! Usually turn around time is about 2-4 weeks, depending on the quantity.

How do I care for your fibers?

Store our yarns in a dry place, out of direct sunlight. Some colorways fade in the sun more than others and while wool can get wet, always thoroughly dry it.

I recommend hand washing your makes with cool or room temperature water and wool wash then air dry.

Is your yarn twisted to be ready to use?

Most hand dyed yarns come in a twisted hank, as mine do. I recommend using a Swift and Ball Winder to cake your yarn to be ready to use. You can also have some one hold the hank open while you make a ball. When you are ready to cake/ball, remember to take off the ties holding the hank! Or check out with cake service and I can cake it for you!

How can I contact you?

You can email me directly at amy@summitrdfibers.com or send me a message via Instagram @summitrdfibers

Do you ship international?

I do! It can be quite expensive, but I try to find the most economical rate with tracking.

Do you have a physical shop?

While our shop is only online, I do travel for Trunk Shows and markets, so you can squish before you buy. Let your local yarn shop know you'd like to see me there!

Where are you located?

I am currently in Vancouver, Washington, just North of Portland. Let me know if you are local!

What is Summit Rd?

Summit Road was where my husband and I purchased our first home. Where our first baby was born. While moving away was positive, that home, the space we created, will always have a hold on my heart.
